七五三
Shichi-go-san or 7(seven)-5(five)-3(three) is a ceremony celebrating children's growth and health.
We take children to the shrine when the boys are 5(five) and when the girls are 3(three) or 7(seven).
We eat chitose-ame or 1000(one thousand)-year candy which is long and thin representing a long life.
We dress in traditional ceremonial kimonos and take pictures as a family.
And then as a family, we go to eat at a restaurant.
- go to shrine は、「神社へ行く」だけでなく「神社にお参りする」にもなる
- go to church で、「教会へ行く」だけでなく「ミサに参加する」にもなるから
